Ryan Ragus
Ryan has a deep passion for visual storytelling and thoughtful design. With a background that spans graphic design, photography, video production, and event branding, Ryan brings a sharp creative eye and a love for bold, clean aesthetics to every project he touches.
As the co-founder of Burst Photography and Design, he specializes in crafting personalized photo booth experiences, unique print templates, and immersive visual concepts for weddings, parties, and corporate events. From layouts and logos to lighting and color palettes, Ryan ensures every detail reflects his client’s style and story.
In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Ryan is also a Video Editor and Technical Director at a local news station, where he blends his creative instincts with live production skills to shape compelling, high-impact broadcasts for Hawaiʻi viewers.
Ryan’s background includes leadership roles in education and design, including time as a Technology Chair at Saint Francis School and Designer at Clarence Lee Design & Associates.
Whether he’s behind a camera, in a control room, or designing a custom event layout, Ryan is known for his reliability, creativity, and commitment to elevating every moment.
Mark Parel
Mark’s journey into the world of design began in high school, where he and long-time best friend and Burst co-founder Ryan first discovered their creative spark in Yearbook Class. It was there that Mark found a passion for graphic design — one that would later evolve into a career rooted in storytelling through visuals.
Before launching Burst Photography and Design, Mark founded Abunai Projects, a small creative business specializing in print media, including custom invitations, yearbook inserts, and event posters. He also explored digital design through slideshow videos and business website creation, building a well-rounded skill set in both print and digital formats.
With a keen eye for detail and a love for bringing ideas to life, Mark brings both experience and heart to every project. Outside of work, he’s a passionate creative through and through — spending his time playing guitar, singing, gaming, cosplaying, experimenting with 3D modeling and printing, and even trying his hand at acting.
